Insider stories from product people.
It’s that time again. Our product and customer experience conference Canvas is one of the highlights of our calendar, I'd love to share with you what we’ve got in store for this year.
It’s hard to believe its been almost 10 months since we took over Austin Court in Birmingham for a sell-out day of peeking behind the scenes of the world’s most interesting products and services. Fascinating talks from individuals at the likes of Spotify, Airbnb and Twitter drew an international audience and gave us a jam-packed day of insights. If you're new to Canvas, or like us can't remember much from even last week, then here's a run down of 2014:
So, what can you expect this year, our fourth outing? Firstly, we’re very excited to be holding Canvas at a brand new venue; the fantastic Library of Birmingham. The biggest civic library in Europe is a striking figure on Birmingham's skyline and has been designed to be a cultural & innovative learning space. It therefore makes for a very fitting venue for our cross-discipline conference and has allowed us to meet demand by scaling up to over 300 attendees (more than double on last year). This year's event is on the 22nd October so you've plenty of time to clear your diary.
Carrying on from last year's theme, for 2015 we'll be hearing the stories behind how interesting products and services are reshaping our experiences and understanding across many different sectors. We'll be blending insider stories, problems being solved and practical lessons so whether you're an engineer, product or UX professional, there's something for you.
We're thrilled to be joined by speakers from all over the world, coming together for one day in Birmingham
We've always been really proud of the calibre of speakers we've attracted to Canvas in the past and this year is no exception. We've identified some individuals who are leading some of the world's most innovative products and invited them to share their vision with us. We've got graze.com CTO and Co-founder Edd Read, the Product Lead at Medium, Joe Polastre (their blog publishing platform is huge) as well as Catharine Conley, Planetary Protection Officer at NASA (not just because space rocks but what she does and how she does it is just mind blowing!). We've got plenty more speakers both confirmed and in the pipeline and we'll let you know as and when we announce them.
Letting our hair down after a day of talks is really important and we're thrilled to have teamed up with our mates at Wirehive who are hosting this year's afterparty (book a cab or hotel!). Happening straight after Canvas, it won't cost you a penny more and it's the perfect opportunity to speak to your fellow attendees and many of the speakers.
There's loads more going on and we'll be sure to let you know how things are shaping up. But for now, head over to the Canvas website and you can find out a bit more about who's speaking and most importantly book your tickets before they all go.
See you on the 22nd October!
